Is there any way to get the old car smell out of the mav with out using perfumes. The car is dry and has Ben for years,The odor is from the seats?
Febreeze might work, if you can get to the source of it. If you have cloth seats a carpet cleaning machine like you can rent at grocery stores works pretty well. What kind of odor are we talking about? Like dry-rot, decaying vinyl/foam, etc., or more of a biological, old spilled food or dead hooker kind of smell?
Replace the carpet. New cars that have that new car smell is not because the car is new, its from the new carpet.
odor removed you ca get a product made by dakota products it is a aresol can you set off and leave closed up for 2 hrs ,the open up and let it air out. i do automotive detailing and use them a lot ,it works and last about $9 at auto geek.com:bananaman
For new car scent... i found the new tire i left in the maverick's back seat did the trick, on a nice warm day... made the entire car smell like that new car rubber for... well.. months now
In my experience, you need to find the source of the smell. My steering wheel and headliner was the source of mine. The headliner is gone so the mice poop smell has been taken car off. I however cannot pin point the smell of the steering wheel but it smell like crap!
Steering wheel wraps are bad about holding odors. My ranchero had one that actualy left sweat stains on the wheel when I pulled it off. Laquer thinner and a course rag. The thinner was a much more pleasant odor than the wheel.
I concur. The olfactory nuances of a perfectly ripened deceased prostitute are by far superior to the mere stench of a plain old corpse. When properly seasoning the trunk of an automobile, the discerning connoisseur can accept no substitutes. Might I suggest a liberal garnish of MD 20/20 or Thunderbird to complete the bouquet?
may be a lil off subject at first but..... we bought a mav a few years ago from an impound lot. well we started headed home and a few miles down the road strted smelling something awful. we stopped and dug around and didnt see nything so i bought some black magic tire shine and sprayed most of the interior(i love how that stuff smells). well when we got home and started to clean the car out we found the smell. a dead cat was under the driver side of the seat!!!! still fairly juicy as well. well we finished cleaning the car out and pulled the interior and pressure washed it. put it back together after wahing out the floor boards and drying them. never smelt again
I like that old car smell! facelessnumber... man you really crack me up.what demented torcher did you endure to wind up that way? I personlly think you have been married.
