Some pictures the side of the motor say c8vf e on it , I'm taking the motor out as soon as i get something to get it out with.
Something is telling me these are not stock motor mounts. It looks to me as if it sits a little lower than what it should. Did i just see sparkplugs IN THE INTAKE!!!! Im going to have nightmares tonight. Cool car!
If the shock towers were moved or replaced then they did a real nice job. I don't see any eveidence of it in the the engine bay or the fenderwell area. With that much rust in the floor pan I wonder if the torque boxes are going to hold up, especially with that motor. I also see a Clutch pedal assembly going to waste in a car with an automatic.
haha the spark plugs are on top of a cloth that i have over the intake and not in it, The rest off the floor is good just where the parts i have cut out are bad, it sat in grass for 8 years, The motor mounts arn't bolted on once i get the motor out i will get some better pictures for ya's
He did all the work to the car himself, i will ask him what he did to get the motor to fit in so smooth when he calls.
i dont see anywhere where the towers were hacked, though they dont look exactly right. and please dont take this offensively but judging from the other pics it would seem like any work to the towers would be obvious
notice the master cylinder is not behind the tower, looks like a good old school job like they done on the early BB race cars. also notice the springs and mounts have been moved on the a arms, this is done to straighten the spring angle up when the towers are moved outward. that car im sure has some very interesting history, i cant wait to see were it goes.
this is probably 1 of the most interesting cars to be on here ,its looks all stock but ,there has to be some work in the engine bay to make that work, i had the white maverick on here i notched the shock towers 2 inchs on each side ,when i went to put a 460 in it it was so close ,i dont even know if i could have gotten under the frame headers in it,im amazed ,your dad does great work,,, your gonna freak out some guys at the shows .....thanks for all the pics and info, keep us informed ...
Looks like it had power brakes, would that throw off the placement of the cylinder:16suspect It might be 60s mustang shocktowers
i just saw what joe was talking about, in the pic of the suspension you can see where the spring perch used to sit, look how close the upper c/a shaft sticks out. and no sway bar. would have been nice to see this car in its hayday
Man! All I know is your Dad did some NICE work modifying that front end like that....I just keep going back to the pics and studying everything...Amazing!
