I must be missing something here. I do see where the spring perch was moved and the sway bar removed. I don't believe/see where the shock towers were altered, they look stock to me. It looks as if the mc is in the stock location also. I know my vision is not the best - but that's the way I see it.

I thought those shock towers looked mighty small at the top. Look how close the shocks are to the fenders on the yellow car, and look how far from the fenders they are on the green car. What car did the shock towers come out of ?

Ok guys, after looking at the comparison pix in post #50 I can see where the towers may have been altered. Had it not been for the comparison pix I wud have never spotted it. That's why the experience and knowledge of folks on here make this a most valuable resource for those of us less experienced.

What's the Vin Numver on the car? Next time you talk to your dad why don't you ask him if he know's any history on who put the motor in the car. He may have all the awnsers. If you look at the towers from the outside of the engine compartment it looks like they have been with that car from day one. Kind of strange that all the paint matches up just right also. You would have thought that when someone did all of that they would have just painted the engine compartment black.Someone took a lot of time putting that motor in when it was done... I'm betting that was a sweet car when it was done.No doubt in my mind it would haul as? at one time.....

Hey guys my dad said heres the motors that used to be in the car it had a 427, 428 and now this 429, This car has 3 owners first guy that owned it moved the shock towers over and had put the 427 in, then swapped to the 428, sold it to a guy here in town, that guy had my dad put the 429 motor in it for him, Buddy later sold it to my dad because he was scared of the car, The carb my dad put on for him was a 780 holley carb that come from a 3/4 truck. When my dad got it he had the motor rebuild, He had it stroked, bored, ported, raised the compression, put different valves and cam in it. I had alot of my dad's friend tell me stories about the car, they all said it was just scary powerful and fast. Heres a fuuny story one guy told me, He said my dad used to tape a 100 dollar bill to the dash and said if he can get it he can have it, My dad would floor it and buddy couldn't reach ahead to get the money haha. So I have been busy lately but here some progress i got, I got most of the windows block off (except the rear windows) i got the rad support taken out and the motor mostly out. I dont have a hoist or anything so to get the motor out i used my own tools ahaha, A jack, rope and 2 straps, I jacked the motor up and tied the rope around the front and the straps in the back, Got the rear tires on so tommorrow me and a buddy are going to push the car back so the motor will be hanging, so i put the socket on the crank bolt and the motor turns over, my dad told me to pour some oil down each hole and let it set for a few days so if there is a little rust that it will soften it up. well heres some pictures for ya's
