I am looking for a clutch for a g force T5. It seems like the king cobra clutch is highly recommended. What disc diameter and spline count clutch do I need. I see the king cobra listed for $400, is that right?

I have a few friends that run centerforce clutches. I also think the couture are 10" 10 spline but I could be wrong.

If you're running a late model 157 tooth 5.0 flywheel, then a Centerforce Dual Friction setup is what you want. This is a 10.5" diameter and will handle a a 331/347 stroker's torque. I just pulled one from my 89 Ranger that's been in service for the past 6 years. Wasn't giving up, just swapped in an automatic before selling the truck.

Spec stage 2, had them in 2 different cars. King Cobra didnt last long but never tried a Centerforce

A question you should ask is how much pedal force does it take to push clutch pedal down, some people like a soft pedal others prefer a little more effort  All of the name brands are good choices though

for the G-force I think the spline count has to be 26, stock is 10 right?

after talking to a few people decided to go with King Cobra, bryant has good experience with them too. Centerforce is about $100 more so we'll see how it goes, got this one for $230. I'll report back about how it does.

I bought mine used. Came with the hardened mainshaft and .90 overdrive gear. I'm going to have a shop go thru it to ensure there are no damaged parts and replace the OD gear with a .59 which also came with it. It also came with 2 clutch discs. A track disc and a street. disc. I think since I am going with an aluminum flywheel, I'll use the street clutch to help with drivability. I just need to figure out what pressure plate to go with or maybe buy an entirely new setup.

We finally completed the assembly of the T5. It's sitting there waiting to go in. We ran into a few problems since the case came from one tranny, the gears were new but partially assembled. Then we noticed some small cracks (very small) that the silicone oozed out of when tightening. Our tranny guy said not to worry about it, we'll see.

Here we lined those little bearings up

Again we mocked everything up to measure the backlash, seemed to be ok so we took it apart again and did final assembly.

Speedo gear, went on with a little pursuasion.

We figure out how to get the base where the shifter sits on without suffering heart attacks in the process. There is a long spring and ball that has to go into the metal base which has to be held in place while installed. Not that hard though once we figured it out.

We had to silicone the top part and the shaft housing 3x because for some reason we didn't get everything lined up right. Also I stripped one of the holes using a modified bolt so we helicoiled it (that was interesting).

    Soon to be painted yellow
