I posted those photos showing how close my Cleveland came to the towers and that had nothing to do with where those braces were. The 429 shows so much more clearence at the exact same point. It just seems strange that a 429 would be any more narrow than a 351C. I never measured the 2 engines so I guess it could be possible
The 429 is 3" wider at the heads then the maverick is between the tower. been there measured that.the towers are stock with the braces removed and they have been relocated notice they do not overhang the frame rails like they do in the stock location
To me, the area where the upper control arm bolts, is deeper on the stock Maverick towers compared to the the one's on the car. Unless the were sectioned, or something...I'd like to see some pictures from the spring area of the shock tower.
Just another of my Cleveland photos - I just find it hard to believe that a 351C is wider than a 429 when both are installed within the very stock shock towers. I still think those towers are moved somehow or somewhere
I thnk they hang over as far they have just had the bottoms cut off and plated....Somebody put a lot of work and thought into that thing a while back. I sure would like to see it in person with a tape in my hand...
The shock mounts are like 2 inches from the fender at the most. The Mavericks is like 4 inches. They look like they have been sectioned 2" at least. Either that or they have been transplanted from a donor car but that seems like a lot more work than cutting and rewelding the originals.
