I am wondering if disabling the ability to post links until a certain post count is possible, similar to restricting picture posting until 10 posts?

Seems like it might really demotivate a spammer ...

Just throwing this out there as an idea.

Flip side is that someone coming in as a new member would not be able to post pics nor links.

Just wanted to get thoughts on this. Seen a few lame replies to posts lately with links embedded. Are these folks making pennies (?) for posting links ... I doubt it would be dollars ....

I doubt if it is a "human". Probably a sophisticated computer program. ???

These posts need to be reported as soon as you see them. The posters often are new accounts without any car or location information in their ID's - and as you said, their posts are often lame and off topic. Many of these type of posts, are caught by us internally, and you never see them. Some make it onto the boards, and when they do, please report them. We will take it from there.

As for your question about not posting links before a certain thread count, Stefan would be able to answer that later. I don't have that info.

    :thumbs2:

It would be difficult to implement this. The best thing is to report such posts by clicking on [IMG].

One thing that I have been working on over the users is to keep spammers out. I wont go into details, but I would say over 95% of spammers are kept out.
