For the one piece its easier if you unroll it and leave it in the sun for half a day. Also a heat gun helps. I used a one piece in the falcon it wasnt difficult at all. A sharp knife is also very usefull whenever a trim is needed. On the maverick i used the two piece from ACC its easier than the one piece. The seam is under the seats so its not visible.

Quite easy. The ACC carpets are made to order and fit nearly perfectly. The 'hardest' part is burning (or cutting) holes for mounting bolts, foot light switch, etc

I will say however, that after a couple years of use, my ACC carpet is showing wear in a couple places. Quality doesn't seem to be quite as good as factory. But then again it's a repop after all and the price was right...

Do NOT order a 1974 model. It could end up with or without a catalytic converter hump.

If you have a cat, order one for a later model, like 76. If you don't have a cat, order a 72.

I have no cat, ordered for a 74, and have a lot of extra material on the trans hump.

Other than that, the carpet fits and looks really nice.

I got the cut pile, which I thought was a little more modern looking.

I asked the folks at Auto Carpet Direct about having a carpet that fits the smaller tunnel of my 69.5 and was told that their 1 piece design carpet is designed to fit the 69.5 - 70 Maverick if ordered for that year. I was emailing back and forth with one of their salesman last February about it. I was going to order one at that time but put off buying the carpet because it was way down on my list of things that I needed to buy for my car so I can not yet vouch for this being true.

Maybe someone else can ask the same question and see if they still lay claim to the fitment.

I can second that as mine fits the same way around the tunnel. If I ever replace it, I'm gonna order for a 72.

I got my one piece carpet from www.Stockinteriors.com for my 73 Comet.
It probably was a little more involved than the 2 pc setup. However, I am please with the look and the fit. It seems to be a quality piece. It is more involved w/ the floor shift, which is what I have. I wanted to use my old carpet as a pattern to cut the new one. The old carpet was 2 pcs and in pretty bad shape - so really just threw it away, took my time and fit the new carpet. This company only has one piece carpet listed "$125.00" on the site.
I do agree w/ some others who have used the 2 pc. carpet, it is probably easier to install.
