Might be the same "style" but it's not the same brace. The Boss 302 has a much thicker reinforment brace.
I have to say If I was going to go to all that work, I would more than Likely put a Mustang II front end in it, and do away with the strut towers all together..
I agree on the tower removals but, more than likely, this car was built long ago in an era when putting a Mustang II suspension was just not done as much as it is today. I'd say it more mimics the old drag race Mavericks back in the Super Stock days
Not really much progress, we found a front fender and I might be getting a parts maverick, I got the old frost plugs out of the motor and I'm getting the screw in ones and threading the holes, I am getting some exhaust wrap for the headers so It dont get to hot and pop the frost plugs out.
I come on this forum everyday and somehow i missed this thread. Awesome car man! Also the shock towers dont look like the ones on my 65 falcon project. So thats one to cross off the list.
. me neither. but i have had rust isues in years past with frost plugs could have been due to heating and cooling maybe. solved problem tho with brass plug
this car was most likely built up before there were any mustang IIs thats why the interesting tower theories
