I had to replace my 77 maverick right front fender with a 60s comet fender. everything went on smoothly but I ran into a problem with the headlight. I can't seem to get the headlight to set right and tighten the headlight in place. Is this a common problem when you replace fenders. What is the best way to solve it?

Are you using the early headlight bucket? The bucket marked R.H. goes on the driver's side...L.H. goes on the passenger's side. Yeah, I know it's backwards. The late headlight bucket is on the left...early on the right.

Sounds like you have a L.H. bucket instead of R.H. bucket.

I'm home for awhile and took pictures. Does anyone know if I need a different bracket? Here are pics.

Your problem is that you're trying to put a late model bucket on an early fender. The adjusting screw is on top with the late model bucket and the early buckets have the adjustment screw on the bottom. 1st pic is late model...2nd pic is early.

Nope...Those are for a 5.75" headlight (4 headlight system). You need one for a 7" headlight (2 headlight system). You will need one that is marked Left Hand.

So I'm guessing trying to find this bucket is going to be a pain. Is there any other solutions?
