Hello all. New 1972 Grabber owner here. Factory 302, has 4 speed in it now. Has never been restored. Has some light rust on bottom of doors and rear quarters. Runs strong but needs a good brake job.

Welcome fellow Alabamian. Great looking car you have there. What part if the state is Mexia in? Never heard of it. I'm down on the coast.

I am just out of Monroeville. Do you run you car at the Mobile track? We have been there a couple of times. I love that Shelby sty le rear end. Not sure what I am going to do with mine. Needs interior and has some light rust in the bottom of the doors. The 4 speed must be out of a truck. gears are far apart and frist in not syncronized.

I don't know about "not syncronized", but if it's a Toploader, the gears being far apart sounds like the SROD. Externally it's a Toploader 4 speed, but has the ultra-wide ratio of a 3 speed Toploader with 4th being OD.

They came in light pickups and Granadas in the late 70s.
Plenty strong trannys, and good for fuel economy.
Aftermarket accessories like bellhousings, clutches, shifters, etc... all swap from the regular Toploader, so you can do plenty with them.

    Thats the one!

I put some quieter mufflers on it. Still needs most of the interior reworked.
