Can anyone tell me how to remove the pulley on my power steering pump? is it pressed on and i need a gear puller? is it threaded on ? if it is, what direction?
i have to remove the pulley to get the big bracket that surrounds it off.
    Thank you in advance,
    Rick

It's a special puller to do it without damaging the pulley.

Autozone has the tool kit to remove and install the PS pulley. I just did mine. That reminds me, I need to return the kit. :yup:

Did mine with the pump still installed.

    The puller pulls, and installs.

Don't pound on it, whatever you do. It will come off/on, but will destroy the bushing that acts as a bearing.

Rent/borrow/buy the puller. I even bought one, years ago, rather than borrow it from Autozone.

If I remember correctly, it WAS a very tight fit. Those bolts didn't want to just "fall out"...

This is the kit I borrowed from AZ. Puller in the middle slips over the button on the pulley. The "pusher" on the left screws into the tapped hole in the end of the shaft and presses the pulley back on. Mine was easy.
