Thanks! I don't have any pictures now. I can take some if you need? Basically I am still using the stock mounting points from the original bezel. On the top I drilled two holes in the new bezel and used the existing screws. Then on the bottom I made two tabs that I welded to the back of the new bezel and they then slide into the slots on the dash where the original bezel mounted. Next time I take the dash out I will be glad to take pictures for you if you need?

I am still working on this part of the project. I do have some tweaking to do on the rear spoiler. I have also started making the end caps to match. I have been given the name of the guy that does all the fiberglass repro stuff for Cobra Automotive here in Connecticut. As well as the names of a few other guys. Once I am happy with what I have done I will see all of them and get pricing to repop a few sets. I will then pass that info along, if anyone is interested then I will have some made.

I will be having molds made and at least one set made for me.

    Thanks,
    Glenn

sorry, I didn't understand. I don't have any of that either, but can take some for you. Easy to do really. With both parts on a scissor stand I clamped them together in the exact position I wanted them in. I then drilled holes through both the dash and the lower panel. I then nut and bolted them together. Checked my fitment to make sure nothing moved. Then I welded the bolts to the dash. Now, when I need to remove the lower panel all I need to do is loosen, then spin off the nuts. I can do it with one hand.

    Hope this helps?

Why is it some people feel the need to screw with you? I have never been able to figure that out in life. In the beginning of February I made a deal with a long standing member on this board to purchase his front bumper and brackets. He set the price, I agreed. The next day I sent payment through Paypal. This was mid week and he said he was busy during the week and would ship it out over the weekend.

I never heard a thing, so a week later I sent him a pm asking for an update. He still had not taken it off the parts car. Another week goes by and still nothing, I send another pm. This time the transmission supposedly blew up in his truck and he was dealing with that. Another week goes by and I hear nothing, I send him another pm and get yet another excuse. Last week I sent another pm and was told his wife had shipped it out earlier in the week, he would get me the shipping and tracking info. Another week goes by and nothing. I send him another pm asking for an update. Is this thing lost? Why am I the one having to ask for info every week? Why can't he communicate with me instead of me having to search him out?

This has now gone on for FIVE weeks, and still no bumper. Last night when I inquired again, he sent me the money back to my Paypal account. I didn't want the money, I wanted the part. I have now wasted five weeks waiting for something that clearly was never coming in the first place.

You would think a member on here with over 4k posts would be a trust worthy guy?! You would think a long standing member on here would want to help a fellow member out?!

I honestly thought that the Maverick community would be a tight nit, help each other out kind of a group. Apparently I was wrong, there are a few jerks among us. And I just dealt with the king of all A**holes!!!!!!

    Glenn,

I feel your pain, the wasted time is the worst part. Especially if other deals have come and gone without being acted on because of it. If I can't get something out the next day, I'll be making sure the buyer knows it and knows why. Hang in there, bud!

    The light of day!!!

Today is the first time since September of 2009 that my Maverick has had the sun shining on it! I made a dolly for the car to be able to make it mobile. It is now off the lift and able to roll around. I still have some bracing to do on it, and finish up some welding. But it was nice to push it outside and finally be able to stand back and have a look at it from a distance.

As you can see in the pictures I have made progress on the rear spoiler. I am probably only 50% done. This was the easy part, now comes the tedious nit picky part, making them look right. The spoiler is a full 2" taller than the stock Grabber height.

You can also see on the front that I have had to suspend the progress on the front valence. Since I got boned by a seller on this board for five weeks waiting for a front bumper that didn't come. I need the bumper to make sure everything will fit nicely together.

Awesome job! I've thought about the 69 camaro turn signals before myself they look awesome! I will eventually have to find a project car to start on myself as my wife and friends all harass me to leave mine alone since its all original. Anyway that's a really cool project you got going there! Good Job! Love the vision!

i love the creativity you've put in your maverick!!! the spoiler, the valance, etc!! if you repaint the factory sprint color/scheme, i suggest leaving the carbon fiber hood alone, that would look sweet imo(y)

    today, frustration.....

The Maverick completely kicked my ass today!! I mounted the front bumper, no big deal. I then installed the lower valance to see how it would fit to the bumper. Again, no big deal. Then I noticed that it fit to the bumper differently from one side to the other? Hmmmmm, what have we here. I started measuring all over the place. From the floor to the front cross member, perfect side to side. Floor to top of fender arch, quarter inch difference from one side to the other?! Floor to the frame, perfect. Floor to rad. support hole, quarter inch again. Floor to top of the fender aprons, perfect. I then put a level across the tops of the fenders, almost perfect. So what gives????

Then I went to the back...

Floor to the top of wheel opening, quarter inch difference. So I then measured my dolly mounts. I had some play so I readjusted and then remeasured. Within a sixteenth. I can accept that. Now I go to the rear body panel and measure from the floor to the rear bumper mount holes. Now remember that the frame is now only a sixteenth right? At the rear body panel I am back to a full quarter inch again?!!!

At that point I closed the door and walked away.

So, how is it possible that the frame and suspension mounts are all within an acceptable measurement, but the body both front and back is off from side to side???
