Most of the ones that are still in cars have the plastic piece that extends the lever missing. I have 3 switches and only one of them have the black plastic on it, the others are broken off. I am going to see if I can find a donor switch that I can repair the others with.
FYI My car still has her plastic lever thank goodness. I think the new toggle plastic arms are a bit larger. I have seen some open the hole up in the bottom of this piece and then push the toggle arm down into it. Looks like it belongs anyway from the ones I have seen done.
I was thinking more on the line of finding a toggle switch that has about the same style lever on it. Then I will cut it off and drill a hole in it, then use some epoxy to glue it to the original switch to make it look all original.
Exactly, that is what I mean with the above. Have fun and post a pic and some details of what sort of toggle you use for everyone.
Maybe you could find some black shrink seal in the form of a cap(like you use on electrical) and shrink it onto the end of the toggle switch arm.Just a thought.
I have a switch and cover, but I think the switch is bad. Cover is good, though. If you need the cover, drop me a pm.
