Anyone out there know which oil pan will fit the Dart SHP block? The SHP only has 2 bolts on the #1 and #5 caps but my pan hits the bolts on the #5. It's not something i can convince to fit using a hammer because it's right by the radius.:(

    thx,
    bert

    8.2 deck I assume?

Mine is a 9.5-had no such issues with a "truck" 351w pan.

What pan are you using? Have heard of some aftermarket pans not playing nice with the beefy Dart main caps however I do not know what pans they were speaking of-or-more specifically I don't remember which ones.

Are you using Dart's main bolts as well or studs or?

yes 8.2 deck. I'm using the bolts it came with.

Don't know anything about 351's which is why it never even crossed my mind that a 351 pan would fit. I imagine the caps are beefier on them and the pan allows for that :slap:

You mentioned a "truck" pan. Will just any front sump 351 pan work?

    Thx

Actually I should have phrased it differently. The "truck" pan I use is a '80 through 1996 5.8/351w pan which is a rear sump design. And obviously the 5.8 pan will not fit the 5.0/302 because the 351/5.8 rear main cap is much bigger.

Other than the rear part of the pan being wider, the pans are almost identical as far as the rails go (the mounting part). One guy I know could not find a pan to work with his 302 and I had a 351 truck pan like the one I use, so he cut the rear section pan I gave him and removed a section of the 302 pan and welded it up. Still working today. The pans weld nicely. Good american steel!

I assume you are needing a front sump 302 pan? Shoot an email to Keith Craft Racing.
