    Very cool!

How do you know what angle to set the engine and transmission at? I have never replaced an engine/transmission without re-using stock mounting points...

Today I was able to get the motor settled in a position I was happy with..... Then I set the intake and carb on the block, got the hood down and so I could check and see how much hood clearance I will have in that position before I fab up the motor mounts.....

Here's a couple under the hood looks at clearance, the aluminum plate sitting across the fron of the car is 2.5" tall and there is close to .5" between the hood and plate.....

Since the hood clearance doesn't look too bad I put the heads on the block and double checked to make sure the motor is centered.....

Then I started fabbing up the motor mount stands and getting them tacked in place, it's almost impossible to get a at them to properly weld them in..... So after getting them fitted and tacked in I removed the k-member, welded the motor stand up, then reinstalled the k-member so I could see if everything still lined up.....

Surprisingly it went right back in and lined upexactly the same..... I also threw the valve covers, timing cover and water pump on with a couple bolts..... Man this thing looks massive with the sheetmetal valve covers.....

Beautiful workmanship - as always :thumbs2:

BUT-------I had to give a snicker after seeing all of your hair spliting measurement work and all done nicely with a broken plastic level :biglaugh:

I think I got a few of them kind of tools too :tiphat:

With the big aluminum valve covers on my Cleveland, I only wound up with a quarter inch of clearance on my billit master cylinder and the heater blower motor now sits in an AC heater box inside of the car above the transmission tunnel - the original blower motor would have hit the right valve cover where it stuck through the firewall :)

Mine is at about 1.5 degrees back, most Fords are more then double that stock..... For one I don't want to lower the trans, just wanted to lower the motor for extra hood clearance..... With the Victor JR intake have the carb pad parallel to the motor I don't like them leaning back as much as stock due to the drastick angle the carb sits, specially when launching the car.....

That's partly why am fixing it myself, the other reason is I know it will be right when I am done(or atleast how I want it).....

Thanks, I'll have you know that is a precision stepped break.....

I had the valve cover on with the breathers towards the back at first, but the stock master cyl wouldn't clear the breather..... With the breathers towards the front the master clears the valve cover by less then 1/2".....

That bottom photo looks suspiciously like Sunshine Dragway.

I'll be there tomorrow for the swap meet. :thumbs2:

My Cleveland has more like 4 to 5 degree tilt back, similar to the Chevy's that I am used to from the stock car days. 4 barrel intake manifolds are also built with those engine tilt degrees built into them so the carb sits level - - my problem is that my Weiand dual quad highrise does not have those degrees built into it so the carbs also lean back those 4 to 5 degrees - has that Gasser look - I may have to have something angle machined if the carbs act up :hmmm:

Is the engine lower, than it's stock position?
I love this stuff, it's awesome to see the quality of the cars being built these days, compared to even 5 years ago.

It is, and I will be there tomorrow too.....

That's exactly why I don't want mine back that far, the Victor Jr's sit parallel to the engine too..... I may cut the 1.5 deg into the intake so it sits level or real close to it at ride height.....

It's atleast an 1" lower, I think it's actually more like 1.5" lower from what I can tell.....
