Hey, my name is Cesar Gil,

I'm living in the State of Coahuila in Mexico and I own a Ford Maverick. My father in-law gave this car to me because it's been sitting in his yard for quite a while now. I don't know much about this car, i don't know the size of the engine i just know it's a inline six and i also don't know the year of the car because my father in-law cant find the title to the car.

here are some pics of the car. It needs a lot of work but i think I'll be able to do it little by little and I'll be coming in here to get some information from you guys. :)

Welcome to the board. I know in the U.S. the first number of the Vin# is the year of the car. :Welcome:

The parking brake is in a different location. I've never seen that before.

Welcome! It actually does not look that bad, just a lot of cosmetic work. Hopefully the mechanicals are in decent shape. It needs a bath! :thumbs2:

Thanks for feeling me welcome! Looks like you're all a good community.

My father in-law said it runs perfectly just that it doesn't have a battery right now, it was stolen since it's outside in the open. I want to buy a set of radiator hoses, the belt and change the oil because they seem to be rotten now except for the oil, it's not that bad, it's just dirty.

Yesterday I started working on it, i took off the trims and washed it, i also started taking out the interior, i want to get the seats reupholstered, interior panels and dash painted black because i want to paint the maverick dark gray metalick with a black accent on the indent of the hood (no gloss on the black).

Also my future mods for it are, make it look like a grabber, installing Coy's 18in wheels from the grabber in fast five, Clifford performance 6=8 headers, Webber carburator, better spark plug wires, taking out the engine get it all clean and painting the block red and top black.
