Started pulling my tail panel from my parts car today to put on mine because my car was backed into something who know how long ago... Just one question... What's with the odd gold welds at the sides of the tail panel?
Its on both sides in the exact same spots... But I guess that makes sense seeing as the rest of the car is rusted out and the tail panel is almost rust free I guess cutting those will be the easiest way to get them out with out messing up the panel? Any other suggestions?
I've never seen it, on any of my cars. Maybe they did it to tighten the seams up? as a factory repair?
This is the first I have done so it's all new to me... Hopefully I don't mess anything up... And even if I do it's just the parts car
mission accomplished any suggestions on how to shoe horn the one on mine out without messing up the quarter panels?
when i took collision repair we learned that some panels are brazed in areas where panels meet that are of different strength. lots of newer cars are brazed on the c or d pillar 3/4 the way up between the roof and the qtr panel because the roofs metalurgy is different than the qtr panel. not to sure is thats the case here but just an idea
