For anyone that doesn't like collector car insurance, you're missing out. Something happened to the suspension on my friend Mike's car this morning on the way to my house, so we just put his car in the garage, and took my car. When we got home, he called up Hagertry, and they sent a flat bet to get his car. He lives around 30 miles from me, and all it cost was $100. Well worth it to know your car is home, safe and sound in it's garage.
I really like my Hagerty policy - and another cool thing is they will cover a car while it is being restored. Even if it is in 100 pieces it is all still covered. Many companies do not insure projects in progress. Nope - no daily drivers. From Hagerty's web site: Vehicles that may not qualify Hagerty specializes in coverage for collector vehicles. Regrettably, there are some vehicles we do not cover due to their limited collectability, the way they are used and/or the extraordinary risk their use may pose, including: Camping, off-road or utility-type vehicles Daily-use vehicles Commercial-use vehicles Motorcycles with performance modifications Any vehicle modified with nitrous components Dune Buggies
I currently have 3 cars and a trailer with Hagerty and have been with them for years. It is an exception to the rule anymore to receive prompt courteous service, but they have really impressed me. When you speak with their representatives (in North America), they are very helpful and make you feel like they actually appreciate your business.
30 miles for $100?!? that's awesome! My neighbor has a towing business and he charges $50 per five miles.
When I first tried to insure mine back in 2004 they said that it wasn't a collector car and that they wouldn't insure it. I just read the nitrous statement above and that doesn't do anything to restore my faith that I could ever use have my car insured with them...too bad since it only gets moved once or twice a year.
when Earl had his...fender bender...they picked up his car at his house and delivered it to the bodyshop...2.5 hours away and cost him nothing... also they paid the total on his...cowl repair... Earl has had...almost $10,000 in repairs for 3 claims and hasn't cost him a cent... Effie had her car towed and Hagerty picked up the bill... ...ILMH... i have...$20,000...on Patches and the lady suggested that i might want to up that when i get it painted...
I just don't understand why they wouldn't even consider mine. I sent them pictures and everything. Maybe I will have to try again after all these positive experiences.
Tony...try contacting Cindy Oswald with Hagerty...she is my agent and a friend of ours. Tell her you know me. Her email is cindy@hagerty.com
We just finished building a 5500 sq ft house for Mr. and Mrs. Hagerty here in Mt last summer, they were really nice people to deal with.
I just called Hagerty and added on my '72. with guaranteed $10,000 and the same full coverage as my other car...$60 a year... ...Frank...
Hagerty is awesome. Ive had a couple questions from time to time about adding a vehicle or about coverages. I just signed onto their website while atwork and used their Live Chat option. It was great and very helpful. Oh and ading the 2nd or 3rd vehicle to the coverage is so cheap. Like Franks sais, $60 to add his 72. I only pay $30 a year more when I added my truck to the policy with my Maverick. But I do need to take off my nitrous kit just in case something happens and they decide not to cover me. I havent used it in 10 years anyways so its not a big deal.
Thanks Gene, I will give that a try. I need to get the value upped since I've made so many changes over the years.
I can't wait to get hagerty, unfortunately right now I have no garage but I'm moving in two months two a house with a garage so at that point I'll be all over the hagerty insurance.
