I know it's an old thread and a little late, but I went "with the grain" using a gray Scotchbrite pad with Mother's polish on my spokes and they cleaned up real nice...

I had a Maverick emblem in mine, but changed it out for the Ford emblem. I have too many Maverick things around the car, not one Ford emblem...now I do.
