http://www.dragzine.com/news/fontanas-auto-club-dragway-closed-over-noise-concerns/ this the only 1/4 mile in the so cal area. its supposed to be temporarily till the track works out a deal with the neighbors for the noise problems. we will see if they get it worked out.
if they closed it for those concerns, they probly wont reopen it. I used to work for a trucking company that had a terminal there in fontana and the people living around it wanted to make them close it cuz the noise from the trucks...an from the looks of it, the company is gonna have to move to a different location
the biggest complaint has been the pro's...outlaw and ProMod cars. Mel was suppose to have put up a barrier wall for the noise but i dont think that has happen yet...they werent suppose to have any pro guys show up till then either but i guess they allowed it anyway.
we called their info line and looks like they will still race this Saturday and haven't officially made any changes to future schedules
In Connecticut, we don't have any drag strips. What we have are people that move into a developement next to a farm, and then complain about the smell.

i bet if there property was inspected, there would be something that doesnt meet city code standards or something illegal. then bring a suit against them.
I pay taxes to race my car there wth......this is not right like people playing with peoples money just becuase of noise,I'd rather hear engines than annoyin people and their problems.they don't care about ours so why should we care?
