I'd like to have some gauges that aren't too far out of view and don't want to mount them on the dash. These look like they might be OK. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-800104K/ Anyone using them?
What abt on the steering column? Shud be easy to mount and see. I have a 3 5/8 tach on my column and can't think of a better place to put it if ur not going to mod the cluster.
Yes, would be mounted on the steering column to replace the spastic tach that's currently mounted there. Just checking to see if anyone has tried the Summit cluster.
I'd like to know as well. I like the idea but I'm not to sure about how it actually looks. If it was a black face maybe. Is there anyone else making these 4 in 1 gauges??
I had one of these, very bright blue and red..went back to the Faze Gauge, the bulbs in this one are led and not changable. it's from Racing World
I had started off with the Faze gauge and it would not function properly so I returned it and they sent out this one as a replacement, I installed it but didn't use the other gauges just the tach, told the guy I bought it from I wanted the Faze Gauge instead of this one and he sent out a new Faze tach. I only like mechanical gauges, which is what I am using for temp. oil. and amp.
If your buying gauges, just buy Autometer. They are the best and last a long time. Those 4 in 1's look cheap. I have mine at the bottom of the dash, above the package tray, easy to glance over and see whats going on.
I pretty much agree w/ Dave. I just replaced a tri-set of AutoGauges by Autometer w/ a set of real Autometers. I shud have got them in the first place. I had the water temp gauge go south after only a year, the sensing tube broke. "I can't say it was all the gauge cuz I did move it arnd a lot fixing and upgrading things under the dash". I found out I cud'nt just repalce the one "Temp Gauge" they don't sell them like that. I did'nt want mis-match so I bit the bullet for a new set. If I had got the Autometers I cud have just replaced the temp gauge and been gud to go. I got the 2 5/8 units cuz old eyes don't see those small ones as well. Anyway, I have two extra gauges I either have to give-a-way, swap, sell or sit on. Long story short; I wasted some money and time re-installing. Lastly, I can see the difference in the quality over the one's they replaced.
Decided against the 4-in-1. Going with steering column mounted tach and gauges (temp, oil press, volts) at the bottom of the dash, just under the center AC outlet, in or in front of the package tray. Thanks for your comments.
Checked the Autometer website. WOW, they have a lot of different styles. Any preferred styles? Also, anyone look at these: http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/
