I got one too nd I'm doin the suspension first,I got a belly bar from a v8 nd installed it rite on to my 1970
I tried building the six in my 4 door. Gets $$$ Expensive $$$ fast building a six cylinder as few people/company's make parts for. Grab yourself the falcon six performance book though if you decide to build the 250. I would at least free up the exhaust, run the carter yf carburetor (with bigger main jet), and perhaps a mild cam. Classic Inlines can set you up on cam selection. Doing that and you can roast your passanger rear tire and dust some honda's . If you want a reliable motor I would just rebuild the 250. decent mileage and all 3 of mine have never let me down. The only way to kill them is run without coolant or oil haha. if you can get ahold of a 302 and want some more get up, go 302. cant beat the sound and history of the motor, and you already have the bellhousing as you have a 250.
hey i am 17 too!! im restoring mine as close to original as possible so i would go with the original motor unless you want an unexpectedly fast car.
If you've got the bucks, do the six by all means. Performance has its place but so does looking cool and not being one of the "another V8" crowd.
Glad I'm not the only one building up a 250 6! Going to Classic Inlines this Wednesday to pick up the Alloy Dress up kit as well as the Carb/Dist/Aircleaner package they offer. Will rebuild the Motor some day and go with the aluminum head, but for now the original engine is strong so it will stay.
Well I haven't been on here in a while I ended up building up money for redoing the Maverick but I needed another car so I could work on the one and still drive so I ended up buying a 2008 dodge ram 1500 and my money has been sucked into that but I have gotten the body on my maverick redone so I'm trying to find new bumpers or rechrome mine witch will cost $285 each but in a way I was thinking about putting g the small bumpers on but I would need a lot more stuff
