The 2012 MCG Gathering is once again going to be held in Somerset, Ky. Tony and Terry Hahn put on a great 2011 Gathering. So start marking your calendars now for July 19-22, 2012. We also are talking to the hotel about getting the same rates for the 9th and 10th for early arrivals. Somerset has a very nice waterpark for the kids, and the BIG kids.
P.S. Some new things for the kids are already in the works. Make this your family vacation.

We can already smell the chocolate chip cookies baking now.:wow:

Well alrighty then! I get a second chance to make it. I'll start preparing now. Just curious though, with the famed Somenites Cruise being a monthly event on Saturday nights, why not coordinate the Gathering date with Somernites for some co-mingling.

There would be problems arranging a hotel for a reasonable rate on the weekend of the Somernites Cruise.

GrabberGT, Come fri and stay til the following sun, 9 days, The sad thing is that you will miss the events on wed and thur. You better call now to get a room because many places are booked more than a year out for the Somernites cruise event. I think it is also important that it is about the MCG family. Talk to anyone that attended and see how they felt about the activities and the comradery between people. When we went there we could be together, if we had it during the Cruise we would be crowded for everything we did. The Cruise group probably wouldn't have had time to put together the dinner and autocross for us. At any rate if you get a chance to attend a Somernites Cruise you will be happy but I would like to think that the up close and personnal feeling of the Gathering is better. If some one can take this and explain it better than I feel like I'm doing now go for it.

For the 1st time ever I am actually looking forward to a car show! We had a great time in Somerset this year....the hotel was great! The kids had a wonderful time....it wasn't just a car show it was a time to all be together and just have fun! As a woman I have to admit that I'm not much of a car person!! I don't get excited when a new car pulls in the parking lot but I do however get excited when a car pulls in full of people that I havent seen for a year or so, or even a group of people that I have never met but know that they are going to become new friends. The Gatherings are just that! The guys get to drool over their cars all day and the women get to enjoy being women and spending time talking and gossiping and rocking in rocking chairs on the front porch and the kids get to have fun being kids. Its a vacation!! I left this year wishing for a few more days and I'm so looking forward to next year! :thumbs2: Somerset gets two thumbs up from me and from what I hear I'm kind of hard to please!! :D
Oh and next year I will definately be more prepared!! :wine:

Well then... I thought the SNC was not much more than basically a local club and 50-100 cars. I had no idea it was such a large event.

I think on a slow month and they do this 7 times a year the SNC has about 1000 cars. I think I heard Tony say the new record is around 1800 cars. Yeah it is pretty big
