Well i just got it back from paint and i'm totally happy with the color and such..still waiting for the hood and trunk to dry at the moment have to go back later and pick them up..BUT the rear tail panel has a few light spots and will need to be touched up or re-sprayed totally...and i have a run about 4 inches in the door and one about 6 or 7 inches in the fender and a door edge (front by the fender) is still primer..which i didnt notice nor did he tell me about. i payed good money for this paint job it shouldn't just be looking like a 100 dollar back yard special HOW WOULD YOU go abouts being nice about saying you'd like half your money back or fix it because i am just not satisfied with this work. well heres one quick pic i took.

i went and had some closer looks at the back of the car, the rear valance is missing a huge patch along with the panels where the lights are where theres about 4 patches like 6 inches long that were missed.

Runs are normal and can be wet sanded and buffed. Not usually a big deal. Its better than it going on dry and peely. I'm sure he will blow in teh bottom of the door. Our painter use to miss bottom edges now and then. We used to make fun of him saying he couldnt bend over. If he has to re spray the tail lamp panel its no big deal either. Its a seperate panel, especially if the quarter extensions are off.

He likely knows a about the runs and its kind of routine to fix them. Shouldnt be a big deal at all. Hes probably expecting to fix them later on.

I'd just tell him you noticed a couple of runs and missed spots and ask when you can bring it back for touchup. He should take care of it. Looks good. I like the color.:)

How much did you pay for the paint job? That would determine how much you can gripe. :D

:hmmm:I thought my car was a bright orange. It looks dull next to yours. That color on yours will burn your retinas if you look for too long! Pretty awesome choice I would say! I guess you have no intention of painting the tail panel black? Any GT stripes going on there? Really looks good though.. :thumbs2:

    Exactly.
If they don't disassemble the car to paint it, I don't know what to expect.

i do plan on the black tail panel but the parts he missed were where it needed to be orange (above where my chrome trim on the back will be, it's a 74 with small bumper..has a chrome loopy thing around the back panel) and i've been looking at it since i got it home and feel it's calling for stripes..i think it'll just set it off! so i need to order those. by the way fish..when i seen your car for the first time in the gallery i thought to myself THAT'S WHAT I WANT MY CAR TO LOOK LIKE! just love your car! i'll be trying out black bumpers first though but if i don't like that i still have some paint to go to body color.

As far as it goes with the paint, i talked to him and he had no problem with me bringing it back in a couple of days to touch it up..he had no idea how he could have missed spots. but anyways ill be a happy camper once i'm driving it at the end of the month

Thanks for the kind words. I cant wait to see pictures when your car is done. Personally I would go with chrome or body colored bumpers and the curvier 73-74 comet stripe in black with a black accent on the hood. Did I mention how much I like that color? That's a great shade.:yup:

It's an original GT, was orange with white stripes.. I have the scoop in the shop but I have a 6" cowl hood to put on it. As far as the stripes go they will be the orig. Curvy ones that came from factory because those are the only ones I really like! But those will be done in a month or so. Once it's all put back together here sometime at the end of the week I'll post some more pics, it's going back in at 8am for the touch ups.
One thing I debated though was switching over to a Mav front end for the small bumper due to all cliff (grabber71) all he has is Mav bumpers! But as of right now it's got a small back bumper and an extremely tucked front, thanks to him though he's helped me alot and I'll be meeting up wih him in a couple of weeks for some racing in port!
