So have we all seen the Maverick Concept Somebody made on youtube? If not...

But say Ford were to come out with the Retro Maverick, what would it need to have inorder to still be "The Maverick" and what should change, in your opinion.

For me the body line is a must have. I would put a real chassis in it. Put the BOSS 302 in it. Perhaps even have the Dodge Stealth Style suspension... Independant AWD with Four wheel turning.... I'm gunna do it to mine someday.... But anyway what would you do if you could design Ford's comeback Maverick?

the problem is the maverick to ford was an economy car in the 70s. today's ford equivalent of the maverick is the fusion. so to say that you would want ford to make a new maverick super car level of performance is not understanding what the maverick was. its an economy car that did share some mustang drive train parts.
what i would expect a new ford maverick to be is a sporty compact car. i would take the mustang platform, shrink it a little. shrink the rear end allot. that thing is just too big in the rear. give it the eco boost v6 and maybe the 5.0 option. it wouldn't have all the plush amenity's that the mustang has. it would weight around 500lbs than a mustang. the cost of it would be just under 20 grand for the top optioned one. it would be a inexpensive car that would lend it self well to modifications for racing.
that's what i feel a new maverick would need to be to honor the original.

hey a v6 svt like they put in the svt contours would be alright by me. my bro has one.. damn it's good. The 3.3L V has come along way form our 3.3 inlines.... Specially with the new modular motor... could be a fun build.
