Remember the movie "Corvette Summer". That Mav' is probably repainted by now or in Mexico or even Canada. Good luck

Hope you find it soon and it hasn't been exported. I will keep my eyes open in this area.

Very sorry to hear about this.

I agree ... it would probably have to be someone local, by the sounds of how you kept it, and it doesn't sound like you took it out much.

I think it is pretty likely that it is still pretty close to you.

I'd be surprised if it's some international theft ring, that is involved...if it is, then we should all be worried.
I also think it's probably someone that knows the car, and it's been taken for parts, sadly.
I'd doubt most kids these days would be able to start it in the first place.
When my car (not a Maverick), was recovered, they found another car stashed in the guys garage that was stolen the same day as mine.....
I use to work with a guy, that his car was missing for over a year, they payed him out, then found it in an underground parking lot, it had been there almost the entire year...not likely someone wouldn't notice a Maverick like this one sitting around...
This whole thing makes me sad.

I am hoping it is closer then the police and I think. With all the advertising we have done with the web along with my place of employment (local school district) it will be found if it is here, I just do not know in what condition then again who cares as long as I can get it back, I can rebuild it again!! Here is hoping!!!!

That would be my guess. Not a big high diollar black market for anything on a Maverick/Comet but the drivetrain. :yup:

In the old days, a horse thief would be hanged. A horse was critical to a man's livelihood much less his/her ability to survive. Don't see why the same punishment isn't used today.

Just received an e-mail from my sons coach who is a policemen in another county. He thinks along with most others it is still in the area just tucked away. Along with the person knows me well and my where abouts... now that is a sorry day when it is someone I know. On a glimmer of good news he passed all the info to many others and we got a hit. His golfing buddy seen it Sunday 2 days after it was stolen going south on our highway. He stated he is 99% positive it was it because it was so unusual and he had to take a double take. I have been looking in the wrong direction for it. And I guess their bull nuts were even bigger driving it through town PAST my house. There is a tremdous amount of good people in this world all present company included it just takes 1 or 2 to make everyone else look bad. I pitty the S.O.B. that took it and hope he or she or all of them have many sleepless nights trying to figure out how to get rid of it. The best thing they should do is go park it somewhere to be found and wipe the slait clean. Now I am dreaming.

    Good new indeed :yahoo:

I hope the heat is on now for those who took it. Maybe not someone you know took it but someone you know told someone else and that person may have grabbed it. I can't imagine sombody that you know taking a chance of being seen and ID'ed, driving you car, down a highway in broad daylight.

Lynda Chandler posted that they found John's car today in the woods. No report on the condition of the car.
