thanks, yea i was going to pick one up but said no when they said 9 inch. I'll look online for one.
I would really like to put taller gears in the rear end when I open it up, but I have never had a rear end apart and dont know exactly what I would need to buy to swap out.

Started on the disc brake swap. Having a friend do it as I no longer have the space or time.. I'm tired of swipping that credit card. It really takes a lot outta ya...Anyway. Marlon (Marlo's Frame & Alignment, Canoga Park, CA) is bead blasting the spindles and dust shield. He will repaint them tomorrow. I have new Timkin bearings and seals now. Will have new rotors, Calipers, master cyl and tie rod ends tomorrow as well. It should be ready to go by mid next week.

It's just a job to these guys now. They know nothing about a car. I've been training the guys at the parts store by me for the last year. Every time I come in they turn the PC away. They no longer ask me what I'm working on, just what I want and what did ya think it came out of...

My parts guys are soo ignorant to cars. When I get something from autozone I buy it online, print out the reciept(store pickup option), and take that into the store, then they just scan the reciept and pull the parts off the shelf.

I think it would be easier to teach a cat to fetch a stick then it is to deal with some of the mechanically challenged imbeciles they have in the autozone by my house.

Drove it 15 miles and used 2 gallons of gas. 6-8 mpg's really sucks, but all the thumbs up make it worth it.

the new core is leak free. the upper neck was soldered in at an angle, though - i had to grind the opening of the heater box a little. now i just need to get the stains from the antifreeze out of the carpet!

on the other hand: i'm getting 15mpg = 16l/100km with my 347 and 2.75 gears!

these parts Guys/Gals are no smarter than the person that is asking for a part that they don't know what it fits...they are just computer operators...

"When I get something from autozone I buy it online, print out the reciept(store pickup option), and take that into the store, then they just scan the reciept and pull the parts off the shelf."

by doing this you have already entered all the correct info. the same thing they do if you go to the store and tell it to them...
