I decided it would be quicker and easier to just buy a dash pad cover on ebay. Probably cheaper too. It cost just under $100 including shipping.
I am very happy with my dash pad. (Accuform) I happened to have a free shipping ad from WC Whitney and they were a few $ less but it fits Very well and is Very east to install.
Sometimes yes, but NOS, never, the last NOS one on Ebay went for pretty big money. The only issue with buying a used one is, no matter what it looks like, it's still 34+ years old..and will eventually crack (they all do) Dash covers look pretty good, if you take the time to adjust the fit, nice and tight, 99% of the people would never know it's a cap. A few people have reupholstered theirs, and they look really good, just not exactly factory.
my dash is cracked out the wah-zoo lol and i dont think tht a cap or sleeve will do, are there any othr refurbishing or repairing options tht i shood know about?
Dash cap shud do it. U just have to get it smooth and clean. Some say u don't have to use the adhesive - I used it on mine. I like the results.
you dont get much more cracked then mine. Still need to work on how it fits up by the window, but looks a heck of a lot better...... http://smegnl.medina.oh.us/index.ph...&id=54:dash-cover&catid=35:maverick&Itemid=54
its not the worst in the world but its got some real defined cracks in it tht someone tried to fill in with some sort of apoxy or something lol
