rear springs

    Does anyone know if a set of rear springs off a 1979 Mercury Monarch would fit a Maverick?

    I've tried to find the info on the net, with no luck. I don't think they do.

    The Data on this General Spring site shows them being the same length (55 inches), and same width (2.5 inches). The center offset-point is slightly different, if that matters.

    Double check this for me Dave, or Old Goose....I don't mess with leaf springs that much.

    It's the spacing that's different, if you compare, the A&B of both, it's not off by much....

    What is that, 1/16" difference? Doubt you'd ever tell that little difference if you put on a pair of them......

    wow, the numbers are indeed pretty close. would give the opportunity of 5-leaf springs, nice!
