How are the emblems attached.

    I know earlier models of Fords are attached with a clip or screw and later models are attached with adhesive. What about a 76 Maverick. I will be prepping for paint this weekend and want to get them removed.

    The mav is gone but i'm still here!
    Be sure to get new tube nuts if your gonna put them back in. They always break when you take them out, or they're already worn out.

    Or you can use the 3M adhesive if your going to fill in the holes.

    I replaced mine with...decals...and late model emblems...:thumbs2:

    yea to get to the quarter panel emblems directly behind the window you gotta take off ur interior trimming panel in the back of the car, u do this and u have better access to the grommets holding it in place. this is wat i know of my 74' 2-door model. 71gold where did u get those emblems?? those look great

    THAT IS NOT REQUIRED. If there are nuts or something back there holding it on...somebody installed the emblems wrong. These emblems simple pry off. When prying, this pulls the mounting pegs out of the tube nuts.

    i didnt say tht was required, it just helped me not break mine. thts all. and exuse me if i said grommets, mine had a little button like thing on the tips of it.
