I'm working on my 74 grabber maverick. The car is very complete but the bumpers are going to need rechromed. I think I can do this for less than buying a new bumper. My question is, the rear bumper gaurds (pads) are rusted out at the bottom edge. I don't think I can fix this and rechrome them but I've never had anything rechromed so what do I know. Does anyone know where I can find just these pads? Thanks in advance.

You're talking about just the black pad or the chrome bumper guards?

The mav is gone but i'm still here!

No one is even reproducing these so you don't have to worry about the price :D

Also the chrome used on most aftermarket parts sucks anyways.

It's a 74 so If I were you just look into buying some driver quality small bumpers off a member here.. Or just paint them black/body color or whatever you prefer, unless you like the park benches or you want to stay original.

    Are you talking about these:

Bumperettes, they can be found in decent condition, maybe post in the wanted section? I'm sure someone has some to spare. I like the big bumpers, they look good with the 74 Grabber stripe.

Yep, I was talking about the chrome bumper gaurds, sorry. At any rate that is what I'm talking about. Trying to find a maverick in an Iowa junk yard is hard, finding a 74 has been impossible thus far. I'm just lucky this car is so complete. Unfortunatley the ones on my bumper are rusted out. I thought about trying to have them "fixed" by my buddy who's a welder, but I wasn't sure that would work. If I could just find a different pair it would be great. If you know of any let me know!

Great, do you have a photo? What are you needing for price? Also, in your photos, is that an 87 mustang gt front cowl?

Let me pull them and get some pics. The mustang bumper was just an idea I had. I got a lot of flack from everyone for it.

Great, I appreciate it. I'll be in touch if ramsey doesn't find his. Don't suppose any of you know where I can find an orange arm rest?
