As always, looking good i dont know if youve posted it yet but what kind of column are you going to be running?
I've been trying to decide on what setup to use either aje or total control. Is the aje kit specific for the mav
I have been eye balling a tubular crossmember set up myself, just been a lil gunshy about makin the jump for it. I have restubbed so many cars I cant keep count, and I will say this is quite the project. Not nearly as easy as welding a camaro or gm stub on something.
Thanks..... I got mine from another member for a real good deal..... AJE still doesn't list the Mav kit on there site but it is basically the same as the early Mustang kit, they still show that kit as $2499-2599 less brakes..... It's really not that bad if you have some decent fab skills.....
Everything looks rad man. I just found this thread while working at the tattoo shop today needless to say, I have been taking notes and I am very excited to get out to my garage again this week.
Thanks..... No progress this weekend, I spent Saturday at Bradenton Motorsport Park watching the qualifying for the shoot out race..... This morning I cleaned up at the shop, I think I swept up 5 lbs of metal dust I made in the last couple weeks..... I also never got my gas bottles filled this week, a must do for next week..... I will have a Monte Carlo Bar and Export Brace in my hands this week that I can test fit for clearances..... Hopefully next weekend I will be able to have the front end ready for some POR15 protection.....
OK, finally some updates again..... I would have posted earlier but I was been having some problems with my dinosour of a computer on and off for a while now, but that problem is now solved..... I bought a new computer earlier in the week and just got everthing chaged over into it tonight, so I am good to go now..... Here's what I got done last weekend Oct 29-30..... I fitted the new Monte Carlo bar and Export Brace, I found the driver side tower the be in at the top approx 3/16"..... After making a minor adjustment to the tower and some slight trimming everthing fit nicely..... Next I put the test fit motor back in along with the heads and intake to check valve cover and breather clearance, the pass side breather will have to be moved slightly back to clear the Monte Carlo Bar but other then that it all looks good..... Then I finished the fuel cell and breather tank fitting, fixed the last rust spot in the driver side apron..... I cleaned everything up and got a coat of POR15 on the entire front end..... Here's the test fitting of the Monte Carlo Bar and Export Brace..... This is how much the driver side tower was tipped in..... Here's my poor boys porta power set up to straighten the tower..... Export Brace and Monte Carlo Bar all bolted up..... Checking motor clearances..... POR15 applied.....
Great work Frank. You also did a nice job with your pictures again! You are moving right along! You didn't spill a drop of this POR 15 !!! The floor would probably look messier after I was done!
