My 70 has a chrome small rear bumper in need of rechroming and mild straightening at the toll of around 300$! I have the rear tailight panel painted body color, I may be painting this and the tailight trim semi-gloss black, and am considering painting the rear bumper also but would like to see other options
Besides Chroming or painting the only other option I can think of is wrapping it in vinyl. But a bumper might be really difficult to wrap.
I am sure you could find a nice chrome bumper for less than 300 bucks. Painting is a good option too but you need a straight bumper to begin with and the correct paint to match your car. So that can add up quickly too. I dont see other options working out for less than 300 dollars.
I really like the look of the painted F/R bumpers, especially with the orange!! I'm considering painting all the chrome black to give it a custom look, but the chrome is a fundamental muscle car attribute, everyone knows the car is a classic. Nothing except domestic (use the word loosely) pickup trucks and small SUV's are the last things with chrome on them.
Body color looks really good with the graphics on the car, i think the black bumpers and tail panel will look good without the graphics down the side or rear. I will use plastidip for awhile and see if i like the matte or satin black bumpers.
I just heard about that stuff, seems interesting..people been using it on rims in the winter to protect them. But I'm extremely happy with my gloss black ones so I'll probably never go to body color. And matte, well it just looks cheap to me after a bit.
mine was painted silver, I painted it red, then went back to chrome. http://smegnl.medina.oh.us/index.ph...ar-colored-bumper&catid=35:maverick&Itemid=54
ahh you guys are making me indecisive! Plastidip is cheap easy and removable. I have used it on chrome rims ALOT, might even do the window trim.
here, do the whole car https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-...7I/AAAAAAAAAGY/d74B4V9q_dw/s1600/IMG_0644.JPG
