Hello everyone. My name is Cory. I am 19 year old as of the 10th of this month. We should be picking up a 1972 Ford Maverick Grabber in 2 days, on the 26th.

The guy who owned it liked MOPAR colors, so it's lime green. It does have the grabber stripes on the side, but the paint has a few cracks/peels. It was originally white. The interior is cloth and red. It has a cracked windshield, and the radiator needs rebuilding. Tomorrow morning, I am going out to Springtown, TX (about 45 mins to 1 hour away) to pull the radiator out and take it to Kirby's radiators to get rebuilt for $87. As far as I could see, it's a 302 with edelbrock heads, holley 2 barrel carb, and exhaust. I'm pretty sure all the Mavericks came from factory with single exhaust? Anyway, it sounds nice and idles fine. It has 14" Keystones on the rear, and 15" on the front. Little wacky, which we will probably end up changing to 15" all the way around. It has an aftermarket headunit and new 6x9 speakers....

My dad isn't into the whole racing scene, so we will make it run as if it was brand new, then make it look good. The most he will do is an exhaust, which it already has but looks a little rusty, and I was looking into converting to a 4 barrel carb...

Again, I haven't had time to really dig into it and see all that was upgraded.

My dad had a '72 Grabber when he was 17 years old back in '80. Now he is 49 years old and I was hoping to find him one so we can restore and bring back some memories for him, while build some for both of us.

    Now, PICS!

Sorry for the fuzzy first two pics. They are from the ad that was posted.

The battery had been drained as they were working on another car, and hooked the leads up from the Maverick to their accord without running the Maverick. They said they will put a brand new battery in when we buy it. I've read on here the 24F5 fits perfect?

Welcome aboard! Looks like you have a nice car to work with there. And that color looks like a factory Maverick color too. I'm parting out a 71 Grabber right now that looks like the same color. Good luck with your car and keep up the good work. Great pics too!

We have a lot of Penns here? I was born in Hanover, PA. Grew up on a road right off 194 that connects Littlestown to Hanover. My mom's brother still runs the farm my mom grew up on outside Taneytown, MD.
