Due to life, and my current living situation, as much as I hate to admit it I had to take my Comet into a professional shop for finishing. :(

Man, that thing will run. The '95 Mustang GT that I bought new, would only run 9.60s. I would have felt some kind of bad, getting outrun by a Festiva!:bananaman

Not today,:) but I did take the 71 out of the trtailer and fill with fuel, air up the tires, and adjust the valves. Going next Saturday, the 10th, to Southwestern International Raceway in Tucson to the IHRA Ironman Classic.

filed a claim with Hagerty on my windshield at...1:11 p.m. today. they called at...4:18 P.M. and said a check for $358.95 was in the mail...She also said..."if it cost more than that, fax them the bill and they would send me the difference". Oh...and if it is less...Merry Christmas...:thumbs2:
I called and my windshield and gasket will be here Monday.

It all worked out as planned!!!! If you have looked at any of my pictures you have seen the extent of rust in my car. It's nothing I couldn't overcome BUT it had also been wrecked. I didn't think it was too bad but I started noticing things here and there like the floor being buckled in the middle and the inner rocker panel having waves on one side (the side that was hit) but not the other.

I always told myself if another body came along at the right price close by I would shift my focus to a better car. Well, Here it is, it's not a Grabber like the other one but it's also not near the POS either. Very straight with just some dings and no rust since we live in a dry arid climate.

It's a 72 with the killer 200 auto combination but it did have enough power to drive onto the trailer. This will make my future work load at lot easier.:thumbs2:

edit....I was wrong, it has a big block 250 in it!!!! I ripped the interior out before stuffing it into the garage, wanted to run off any critters before it went in. The floors have some rust mostly anywhere there was a low spot and seam sealer. Did the water test on the cowls and had no water in the car, just on the outside.

    Went to Pull A Part

I found a 72 Comet with a half decent dash pad.. I spent several hours and wound up pulling the entire dash to get the pad... causing a few cracks taking it off... spent several more hours taking the pad off of my car.. :dancing:
