Yes i do! Ive been keeping my eyes on craigslist for another good maverick to build up.. So happy I found this thread though!
This is embarrasing :sorry: I dont think i would have done that, i know how to gap a plug haha. I wonder how i managed to do that without noticing.. oops!
Sorry dont mean to blow up your thread but thought i would share some pictures of when i had it, maybe you will enjoy seeing them, The day i bought the car when I was 13 when i first got it from paint, (sorry pics are a bit out of order) for sale pictures Im sure he knows every little crevice that i learned how to do body work on even though it was all done the cheap/wrong way haha, learning to do it the right way now
How's it going..... I don't have a problem with you coming by if you would like, I am usually at the shop on Sat and Sun until atleast noon..... I could pm you the addy and my nimber if you like.....
Sanded it down this morning, pushed it out side so I could clean the shop and get ready to paint it..... Blew the car off and put it back inside masked up a couple small things and tacked it off a couple times..... Since it was basically ready to paint and it was only 12:00 I decided to go ahead and paint it rather then wait until tomorrow morning..... Oh yeah I decided not to go with Grabber Blue, this is just a color I found that I liked..... It is actually a little darker then I thought it would be but I still like it..... Everything went well except the clear did not want to flow out real smooth, it has a little orange peel to the finish but shoud wet sand and buff out real well..... One thing is for sure, I layed the clear to it so there should be no threat of sanding through it..... Here it is sanded and sittin outside..... Here's the mess of a shop I had to clean up..... Shop cleaned, car blown off, tacked off and ready for paint..... After base coat was applied...... and after clear coat was applied..... I want to see what it looks like out in the sun tomorrow.....
Me too!! I love the color for sure. Can't wait see the rest as it gets assembled. You are making me really jealous.
I had to look up what "tacked off" meant. Tack rag, huh? I'm learning everyday! Shell looks amazing! The color looks awesome, can't wait to see it in the sun also!
Thanks, I gues this color is pretty close to the rendering you had made of your car..... I gonna be a while before the rest of the body starts going together..... Thank you..... It's supposed to be nice tomorrow too..... We all keep learning every day, and thank you too..... Thanks.....
That looks like a Guardsmen Blue that Ford used in 1964 and that Shelby took for his stripes on the 350 Mustang. Am I close ?
Thanks, it's a restoration shop color called electric blue metallic..... It looks much lighter on their samples the it looks on my car, could just be the computer but who knows..... The little sample dot they put on the car looks more like the sample but it's ove a silver can..... It even looks that way around the edge of the can where I poured it..... There sample could be over silver or something, who knows..... I still think I like it anyways..... Thanks, yeah I did get quite a bit done today..... Not really, see the my first response in this post.....
