Wow, it had been 7 months. Yikes. Some of the highlights are that the carpet has been pulled to revel the floorboards. The Crites hood has been bolted to the hinges... http://smegnl.medina.oh.us/index.ph...article&id=66:bsu&catid=35:maverick&Itemid=54
looking good..you will be so happy you took out that garbage infront of the rear tire by replacing the quarter panel...i thought i got all the rust out and treated it.. got painted in June and i got bubble rust started there (hasn't popped the paint yet but it's there)...looked exactly how yours did. but its looking great keep it going
7 months....that can be a little frustrating. Sometimes, they like to book old cars as filler work and to save you money, then they just get pushed into the corner..I know of a 69 Crap-aro that spent 2 years in a shop. I just hope they are being fair in the billing, and are providing an itemized list of time and materials. Looks like they are doing a good job. Your missing 2 holes for the spoiler mounts....
yes, 7 months kinda sucks. But its snow season here so It doesnt do me any good right now anyway, so I told him that. They fired the guy that was working on mine. The was looking for a few months for replacement. But work it going on it again. It is filler work like you said. I knew that going in. They bill me for time and material, it is itemized. I do kinda have to take his word at how long they worked on the door or whatnot. He lets me buy and bring in my own parts, so I do not get charged his markup. I thought there was some holes missing on the spoiler. I dont know if the PO cut off the other post or what. Ill look into it. Thanks for the heads up.
Mine was here for 11 months at work in the body shop so 7 isnt too bad. If they worked on it instead of the gravy work your bill would be astranomical. ITs a trade off. Tough to find a shop to do that type of work at all now. They want gravy collision work, not rusty old cars or cars they have to strip. Our body shop will do everything possible to dodge a rust repair job.
My car was stripped to the bare bones, media blasted, and taken to the paint shop. It was there 2 1/2 years.
Mines been stripped, cut, patched and primered. Just passed on yr mark in oct. Was tod it'd time to pick the color cuz they want to start painting door jams and such
It will be worth the effort in the end. Projects seem to drag out longer than expected though. I thought I'd have mine done in a year. It's been a year and a half and I've got it mechanically re-done...but haven't hardly started the body yet. I think I'm gonna ship Tri-City Plating my frt bumper like you did, but plan a weekend get away to Gatlinburg to pick it up when done. 2 birds...1 stone type thing.
Here a a few update pics. Doing the final sand down getting ready for paint. They had some concerns about how the spoiler fit (see attached).. the few new pics are here http://smegnl.medina.oh.us/index.ph...article&id=66:bsu&catid=35:maverick&Itemid=54
