You can get one from any Ford dealership.

Also ask your local junkyard to save you one if they get one in.

What changes to the fuel system did you make to accommodate the fuel injection?

If I buy one from Ford here in Canada. They will charge why more then in the US. I don't live far from the US border it might be worth going down to buy my engine.

Yes! I was thinking of orderinng from a site called Ford racing parts direct, They even have an upgraded version called the aluminator with many of the new boss 302 internals. It might be cost affective to look for a good used one, but only if its in great shape and a great deal.

The aluminator version is set up for forced induction, The NA version is more than enough :D

The used ones I've seen are going for $5K. Which is still a great price for what you get. You can easily spend 5K in a 347 stroker and not make the same HP as the coyote....

There are 2 versions of the alumainator one NA and one for forced induction. I will most likely buy the standard coyote 5.0L.

Had to put a pump in the tank...Don't need to but it is best. You need 40lbs of constant fuel pressure, if my memory serves me right.

A return line system was also added ..

directly from Ford HP with serpentine setup and headers included. Not the forged version. He doesn't have power steering or AC so rather simple from the serpentine drive system

I will ask but i think he paid in the 6 grand range for computer headrers and surpantine set up. He bought it quite a while ago so prices have come down some. He has had it running for the last couple months...I just never posted it. He isn't much of a blogger.

I have been telling him I was going to post it and never did til yesterday.

I will get more info as people ask and try and get some better pics and even a video if the weather holds out. Snowed a little last night but not enough for salt so I am sure we will have it out again soon....It loves the cold dense air...

If anyone has any interest in having this conversion done and lives anywhere near Northern Illinois or wants to transport, This is the guy to do it for you.

He is not a procrastenator (sp?) he can and will do it right for you. If anyone is interested send me a PM and I will give you his contact info. Don't call with questions, he doesnt like answering the phone. He has himself and one other really good fabricator working with him so not a lot of time for conversation.

Besides he has one of my cars there and I dont want a bunch of phone calls slowing him down...lol

anyway, very reputable guy...don't know what I would do without his fab skills. He can build anything. He used to truck pull for a living and both he and his wife would win first and second at most every event. He also drove the tank for Big Foot. He has built many very unique street rods including a TEXACO gas truck with a 460 in it.
Tank was hollowed and made into an interior, really cool.

Anyway...He is the man if you want to hire it done and he doesn't charge Foose type hourly rates. He just likes doing it. He loves to do things people say can't be done. He takes it as a challange.

He is putting a magnacharged LS3 in my 1980 Z28 now...or at least he will as soon as my darn motor gets here from Turnkey !

He , however does not do body and paint, can but won't unless it is his....

Before he started the Maverick he was going to build a Tank but finally figured out it would be a little impractical. He was even going to build the tracks !

If anybody remembers the super dave osborn show...dating myself, he drove the tank in a skit for him. It's still on youtube

I take that back I just looked and the video has been removed from You tube by user. I did make a dvd of it for him though. It was called Humanized Bull Fighting. He actually almost ran over super dave, his little clown car quit and my buddy ran over it with the tank accidently. Scared the krap outa old SD but it made it in the final Cut.

Haha, I guess you haven't been here long enough to realize how cheap most Maverick owners are, they won't spend that kinda money, that's why some of them have Mavericks and Comets in the first place.
I like the idea, but don't get your hopes up :D

That is an amazing drivetrain swap. I went through a lot with my Cleveland/Mustang II front end swap but this one sounds like it was more intense. I would love to see more build photos of the front suspension mods without the engine hiding everything :thumbs2:
