Awesome! Thankfully, that's pretty much what we did except we tightened everything with the car still up in the air. We had custom u-bolts bent (from a nearby big rig shop) since we couldn't find the right ones anywhere locally. I torqued each u-bolt nut to 40ft.lbs, then to 45ft.lbs. Is that enough? I was afraid of crushing the axle housing...???
Looks like something is up with the forums. I tried to quote someone and it quoted a totally different person.
You are right about one thing blugene, Darren is a totally different person You must have quoted him from Jsarolds post
I think Scooper had that problem a while back on his car. IIRC, he gave up and put a spacer block in the rear on the low side.....
A half inch can be very difficult to eliminate. I managed a Midas Muffler store back in the 80's. We were trained for selling add-one. We kept coil springs in stock for many cars. All we had to do was measure the height of the vehicle and show the customer the difference. I would venture to say 95% of the vehicles we measured were close to 1/2" lower on the drivers side. Just out of curiosity I got a chance to measure some cars on a new car lot. Well, guess what. I found very few to measure the same, most always lower on the drivers side.
