I know some guys were bothered by our long thread with local chat in the General Forum, but isn't this forum titled Local Clubs and Events? Should we be starting a new thread everytime we have something to say to the group?

Anyways, Adam I'll give you a call or text monday when I get started on the car.

Robbie, Did you bring back something from Rick for me to hold on to until somebody comes and picks it up?

I would say in order for this forum, or any forum for that matter, to work better.....Yes, a new thread should be started whenever there is a new topic. It helps better in "searches" when looking for certain topics, and it encourages new people to get involved.

If you are talking about the rear valance, I came by and got it.

Good meeting you, Robbie, even if it was just a short visit. Nice looking car! :thumbs2:

I always enjoy seeing members' cars in person...

I moved it to the "Other Auto" sub forum as it covered lots of different topics. If you want to have a local events thread, thats fine (No need to start a new thread for each meet), but please keep it on topic.

First off would like to say thank you Stefen for all that you do around here and what you have created. I would have sold my maverick years ago if it wasnt for a forum like this.

Stefan are we allowed to have a general chat thread kinda the way the sand box thread is? It was nice being able to keep up with whats going on in our local scene all in one thread.

In my opinion a thread like this promotes local clubs forming, and in doing so the whole forum growing stronger.

I guess I am used to national forums having local sub areas to discuss local outings, and just local chit chat. Also a place where new local members can feel more inclined to come say hi and maybe get out to some of the local events.

In my thinking the point of forums is to bring people closer together with common maverick interests. And I do not think I am alone in thinking Arizona has been closer and more active than it has been in years, I believe partially due to the last couple meet/chat threads. Yes we all have been checking the boards, but no community activities.

For general Maverick chit chat for people in AZ, create a thread in the general forum with an appropriate thread title.

If you have local events, create a thread in the events section (May want to have a continuous thread for this). Create a link to this thread in the general AZ thread (Add the link to the first post).

If you have stuff to sell, create a new thread in the classifieds forum. If you dont want to ship the items, clearly state that its pick up only. You can then post a link to your items for sale in the general AZ thread.

If you want to talk about tech, create a new thread in the tech forum. Other non AZ members may be able to help you out and people searching for solutions to problems may find the answer in that thread.

Having "structured" threads will make finding info a lot easier in the future.

    Arizona chit chat

I dont understand how we are violating any rule to the board here. yes it was my mistake to tell the AZ members about my car parts for sale. yes i should have posted prices. yes i should have posted at least so many items. and yes im not perfect.
However, if a bunch of people from AZ are chatting about mavs/comets with one another, in hopes of maybe shareing info or parts, why then do we need someone from GA. or IN. telling AZ. people to start a new thread or have it moved so someone else can just jump in to tell us our thread is too long. case in point"Planning an AZ meet".
There to, we where told the thread was to long and told to start a new one.
    so ryan started "Sand Box".
As we all know im not real computer smart, and i'll admit to it. But what about those who are looking for the "sand box" and cant find it? Or is this just a case of someone not having enough to do so lets bother someone else?

Due to negative past experiences, scams, people getting ripped off, anything Maverick/Comet related for sale must be posted in the classifieds forums as it contains the rules and guidelines for the classifieds. 99.99% percent of members are honest and trustworthy (and some members have been taken advantage and got ripped off because of this :( ), but its for that very small percentage that these rules were put in place.

As I said in a previous post, AZ specific info can be in one thread. However, technical (and classifieds) need to go in the correct sections.

By having separate structured threads in the appropriate forums makes it easier to find info when doing a search.

I will add a "redirect" so people looking for it in the events forum will find it.

Why do you need a message board....or even a thread about any of it. Just all go to facebook and do what you want and you won't bother anybody. Stefan has some pretty simple rules that he has asked that we ALL follow. He has pointed that all out above this response. Simple enough.
