Well, u maybe right. I am not using P&S brand frm Lowes; I am using Fatmat a similiar type product claimed to be made for automotive use. Just out of curiosity. I am going to test some and see what the results are. Although, I can't see how it cud retain moisture if applied properly. Notice I said applied properly...
I for one can see it retaining it by means of not allowing it to dry between the material and the metal if moisture or water got into it. But I don't see it attracting moisture. ..
I agree. If the metal is prep'd and P&S installed properly water should never get to it unless it is torn or something. Rick
Peel an Seal is a self adhearing membrane designed and manufactured to correctly apply to wood deck surfaces that are properly ventilated to keep rain water out. Wood Breaths Metal does not. MY point was if this product or any other self adhearing membrane is applied to metal surfaces and you dont cover all the bases like body plugs not properly sealed with seam sealer, cowl leaks under the dash or weather striping that is bad this coud be a problem down the road. These products will contract and expand with tempature changes. Your car is not gonna tell you their is an air pocket between my floor pan and the rubber you properly installed unless you have A-SMART CAR. Give Me a waterhose I can make anything leak and that would be like you crusin down the highway in pourin down rain. Peel and Seal is a great product I have it installed in certain areas in my street car.
why would you want to put this on a...wood deck surface... I'm thinking we are talking about 2 different things... that sounds like...Thompson water seal...
Well said! Fe O H20 iron, steel + oxygen, air + [not needed-water,moisture] = RUST Rust is not an event, it is a process. Think on a molecular level That being said I plan to use one of these products. But I would never purchase a car with one of these products in it. [cant find head scratchin icon]
I think he is referring to the wood (plywood, particle board, or whatever you have) under your roofing.
are you talking about...peel and seal...Fat mat...Dynamat... but you... "would never purchase a car with one of these products in it."...
the Peel and Seal i used is selfsealing when cut...and torn means nothing to this stuff...and as Jeff did, he coated the surface with...Rustbullit...before applying the P&S...
that would be...ice shield...that stuff is torch heated when applyed...onto a fire proof underlayment. (not to the wood deck)
Ok, but Seal and Peal is designed to adhere to the wood. That is what he is saying I think. Ice Shield is another thing that adheres to wood, apparently with heat.
