Yes it's for a 67-68 mustang I ordered it without an emblem so i could make my own. I installed a 68 shelby rear panel. Its in this thread
Bad news and Good news .

 

Finally got around to mounting the emblem on to the cas cap. Im glad i didnt drill through the emblem.

Thanks, the hardest part was making the back concave to match the cap.

 

I dont have any plans on making any to sell at this time, this one was pretty time comsuming.

 

Making a concave is what made me loose motivation in making the grill emblem holder for the flame grill I was making. Some things have to be made by hand and hard to duplicate. I think the work you did looks top notch and reflects your ambition.

 

Thanks Gene. I wonder if there would be a way to make a mould and cast them.

 

I don't know about you but my budget won't allow it lol. The casted stuff I ever made or came across was too pourous to get the luster you have. The heat requirements get higher as the metals get harder. Maybe a brass one? Brass might also be easier to work with when sanding and grinding..

 

And for those of you that don't have a 68 Mustang style rear panel, there's always the 70 Mustang pop open cap...it mounts to a flat rear panel.

Concaving the back wouldn't be to hard if you made a block to rest the piece in face down and used a ball point deburring bit in a drill press with a locking depth adjustment. All you need to worry about is the edges fitting flush against the cap so hollow out the back enough to clear the face of the cap. It looks really great.

Thats kind of what I did only I used it in a dremel tool. Had aluminum shavings every where.....

 

u shood honestly throw a number out there for how much ud want to make anothr one for someone. i reeaally want one.. haha!
