I know that Dynomat is self adhesive, but how do you attack carpet, leather, etc... to the dynamite without it separating or "shifting/sliding"? Simple spray on adhesive or something else? I have never worked with the stuff, so I am curious. Thanks for any replies.
Lots of threads on here about it. Also called Peal and Seal. Why would you want to put it ON the carpet and leather?
Dynamat just sticks to the sheet metal. Your carpets just sit on top of it the same as the carpet just sits on top of your sheet metal floors. You do not stick your carpet to the floors it just lays there ...
Thelgord, I have used 3M 77 adhesive, just make sure you apply it to the top of the Dynamat and the underside of whatever you are putting on top of the Dynamat, it works very well, but you need to make sure you mask for any overspray because this stuff really gets sticky..............or I have also used commercial Velcro with the 3" wide strips, I also used the 77 where I put the Velcro down on both the Dynamat and the Velcro I have used both methods many times with good success although if you were going to be using a soft material like leather I'd go with the adhesive....IMHO
some custom carpets are glued down... I have tac glued some of my carpets...just a spot here and there to keep it from shifting while installing it.
No glue here, but next time I will tape the seams with foil tape, keeps my pants from sticking to any exposed edges.
