Where can I get parts for this suspension or is it something I should just be able to fix myself. I really don't want this to fail on me driving on the freeway.
Mo' speedway motors carries eveything you will need suspension wise. if you dont have there catalog order one! a cool 4 banger would be neat in it (2.5 iron duke) they used to make a adapter to bolt it to the th350 or a good old inline 6! maybe with 3 2 barrels and a split header
I'm with Russ on this. The big block Ford 6s are plentiful and they make a ton of performance products for them. Unlike the little 6s that came in mavericks/comets. 4 cylinders can also make A TON of power/torque despite their displacement disadvantage.
I ordered the headlights today which are about $50 so that should be arriving next week. And I spent a chunk on the front brakes. It's gonna be all new stuff so it's worth it. About $290 for the whole kit.
gonna give the engine stuff some thought but for now I'm going to do a leak down test on the engine and maybe a compression test if it's necessary to see if the engine is in decent shape. here is the rear brake kit that arrived in the mail and the front lighting.
Whats wrong with the small block? You could dress it up with some old style valve covers and maybe a 3 deuce setup. Tell everyone it's a 283
I wanted to find something a little more economical. I might still go with it if my budget doesn't allow for a different engine.
Am I missing something here? I see the radius rod on top, but what keeps the spring from moving forward and back? I'm thinking it needs another radius rod on the bottom side, parallel with the top to keep it from binding and to keep the spring from walking. It looks like when the axle goes up, it will pull the spring forward. Is the axle held by anything besides the U bolts?
Just found this thread....I built this '37 Ford pickup about 5 years ago...401 Buick Nailhead, T5 trans, Late model Chevy 3/4 ton 6 lug rear
Nice ain't the words for that truck --- How about AWESOME - EXQUISITE in that order. By my standards that truck is a show winner, it's in the major leagues. PERIOD... Streamliner builds some KNOCKOUT STUFF!
We found a torque converter locally for $225, 1800-2100 stall speed. Bryant put it together and installed the tranny onto the engine so now it's supported
