    I've seen them in Capri's and Granada's.

Careful on pulling a donor wheel from a Capri or other post '74 car. Many had the horn as part of the turn signal lever and the wheels lack the horn ring parts.

    :yup:

    Been there myself ..............

Bought a beautiful wheel off ebay that only had 1 picture of the topside and I never thought to ask the seller. I was able to resell it again on ebay, but I learned my lesson.

    :)

I could have sworn I saw a Maverick sport steering wheel a year or so ago on Ebay. Had the maverick emblem in the center and everything. My 72 Pinto had one and I really wish one was on my Maverick.

Nope.....the Stallion sport wheel was on the Mustang. Maybe the Pinto. Never the Maverick.

That was probably one of my wheels. I pulled a couple dozen over the years out of junkyards, refurbished them and put the Dan Hines Maverick stickers into the horn button. I used to sell a lot of them on ebay but all my sources (junkyards) have been cleaned out. Maybe this summer I'll find somemore but the pickings are slim nowadays as most places have crushed all the older cars. :(

Is the fix as simple as getting another horn button with the wires coming out of it. or is there more to it?

there's more to it, the base of the wheel is different. the later one is missing the contact rings.

Exactly - here is a picture. No possible way to convert one that doesn't have the horn contact rings. If you are looking at one on ebay or at a swap meet - make sure it looks like this. :)

On a side note always check older ford trucks when your in the wreckers it was a popular swap. Every one of my 70's pickups had a sport wheel swap on them. Also 78-79 broncos had the sport wheel with horn as a option.
