Bobcat Tailight install

I thought I would show everyone how I did mine. By this I mean mounting so I can use 4 bulbs for my lights and turn signals. First I cut the old light holding plate and welded it to the plate in the Bobcat light. Well if you follow the pic's you will see what I mean. I'm VERY Happy with the way they came out, now I just need to find a couple of push-in light holders. I will put the other pic's in the next post Rick

Nice!! Now all I need is money to rechrome the bezels and courage to cut the tail panel.

 

I did the same thing, but without any welding. My tech write up shows how I used a Maverick light and lens on the reflector side just by notching the lens a bit.

 

Ford84stepside I understand how you did it I didn't want to drill new locating holes at the inside end as the single hole I had lined up perfectly.

Take them back off and paint them up, so when you look in your trunk, the tail light buckets are all clean. Very nice!!

Captainmack thats the red that it came with in 71. I just wheeled it out with a fine compound, Thanks.

 

I understand not wanting to drill the extra holes for the Maverick light studs. I suppose I could have just cut the studs off, but I figured the extra weight of the new light it needed the same support as the original light did.

Either way, you still get the same effect, better lights!

 

I kept the studs to get a close tight fit against the tail panel. I figured the new gasket pads will need the extra pressure.
