    Now THAT was good!

Although I haven't researched this yet, my intention is to mate the 351w with the TKO600.

I think the question should be ...

    ... will a T5 live behind a 351W?

And the impression that I have gotten from Cobra replica guys (remember an even lighter car than a Mav) is that it better be the later World Class version, and if you pound on it at all, it won't live long .... torque of a healthy 351 will likely kill it in short order, if abused.

Ran my T5 behind a nitroused 347 for awhile. The tires would spin before the tranny got hurt. Now, if you plan on racing it with slicks...

Chris; I live in Temple, near Carrollton. Don't know how far that is, but I have a T5 in my car (302) and you are welcome to come over and look at mine and see what you will need and what you will have to do. PM me if interested, and I'll send you my phone number and address. Later,

The tourqe rating for even the strongest Ford Racing WC T5z is only rated at 335 Ft Lbs of torque. The highest factory rated T5 only held till about 310 Lbs of torque in the 1993 cobra. But sad to say most factory T5's only went from 265-300lbs of torque.

If you want more power in a T5 you are going to have to use something like G-Force gears like some of the members have used around here, but the price of those gears make you question on if you should just buy a tremec instead, they are within a similar price range. But the tremec gets the stronger gearset and larger input and output shaft diamaters.
It would be a big deal if there were major tunnel modifications to get the tremec to fit but I know from a good scource that it was easy to fit a TKO in a 72 maverick.
