I have been taking photos of my progression and the layers Ive done to the scoop. However I only the most recent picture on my phone which I uploaded here.

I need to wetsand the rest of the orange peal down with 1000 grit and then buff it out with some turtle wax.

I found that Real orange tremclad charger link on here somewhere now I am just posting my progress!

It looks so rad in person. I love this orange.

Looking good. I've seen a few threads of people either starting or wanting to try this on their Mav/Comet but haven't seen one completed. Keep us updated.

The downfall is if you ever want to paint the car with "real" paint it will have to be completely stripped.

Tremclad is the Canadian trade name for Rustoleum.

Well its not aerosol, I'm brushing it on. In the original Tremclad charger post it does talk about how it self-levels if mixed with mineral spirits correctly. I noticed this as well.

I need to sand the fender down with 1000g still, it'll look flat and completely smooth then I'll apply the polishing compound.
I am just waiting for payday to grab some turtle wax and a new polisher.

My first picture of the scoop, was just due to bad lighting and my camera phone, Hence the redness :p In these pictures I had the flash on. I just dont seem to have any luck with catching the actual colour of the fender haha.

And if the car looks like ****, well live and learn I'll strip it again if I have too. I figure I cant go wrong since I am 25 and having a kid living on my own and dont have the cash for a 3000$ paintjob.

From what I have seen so far from the prep work and how Ive sanded it. It looks way better than what I have seen online compared to other Trem jobs.

As long as you are happy with how it turns out is all that matters, and even if you are not happy it is yours and you did the work so with that being said keep it up and give your arm a rest from time to time :)

Maverick people my friend whom own a fiber glass Ac cobra, shot a 50/50 mixture of rustoleum and lacquer thinner over dupont euro primer as a guide coat --for sanding purposes. Then dupont paint was applied with concept high dollar clear. this was done in 1996 and the paint still looks good. :16suspect worked for him. :thumbs2: You could probably reduce even more for shine.
