Hello guys, I am going to be doing reproduction sun visors in two different formats. They are used with top quality materials, and can be made with real leather, or any material you wish. Same with colors etc. Everything will be new, and just as good or better than NOS. I will be using same hardware as stock visors to ensure they fit, and standard look. There will be two options. First option is the standard size, and width of the stock sun visor. The Second option will be the standard width with a one inch added to the size. Below is a picture both options. I am looking to see if people are interested before I go ahead and start making these. I can have each one made within a few hours in-spite that I have the hardware. There are a few mavericks in town at the local junk yard which I will be going today to get the visor hardware to get a few made. The only stipulation I have is -- I get your old visors as a core to help other members. I will if needed have them polished, and cleaned professionally to ensure everyone has a near brand new item. Edit; Price for a set will run about 40-60$ per set. That is 100% complete set, hardware polished, new screws, and top quality visors. *price can vary depending upon the materials you request -- price above is for vinyl - any color* Also in the works is a reproduction kit for back seat covers. And possibly foam as well. That will come in near future. If you have any questions, concerns, or idea's please feel free to post. Thank you, Levi Zoesch P.S. The above visor is a "Standard" size, the below visor is the new visor with a 1" to the bottom end to give more width on visor. My question to you is the following; What color (standard is black) What material ie; Ostrich, leather, vinyl How many sets if more than 1 How thick of patting would you like (standard is 8th inch for a total of 1/4 inch thickness for both sides combined) 1000% 30 day money back guaranteed - 100% satisfaction guaranteed
Great! I will get back to you this afternoon on a price. I would like to see if others are interested as it will be cheaper for all parties if I buy in bulk. Thats a nice idea. I would have been in for some but I found some original nice black ones already out of Wisconsin. I'll have some cores if you need them though when I swap mine out. Are you using cardboard for the inside of the visors or is that just a template and will be using some kind of fiber board?
It will be made out of 1/8th inch fiber board. It is sturdy and hard to bend. Wont wrinkle - its strong material unless you're purposly trying to bend them. Also the picture i provided is actual press board. I will have a finished set with pictures this afternoon roughly 4-5ish pm PST. Below I have attached some pictures of the material I will be using.
Possible, given I can find a oem reproduction of them, or a similar one. I believe I can use the mustang pieces. I will have to do some homework on those. edit; I have found one that I believe would work. http://johnsmustang.com/Parts/details-12877.html center bracket or http://restorationpartssource.com/store/product40942.html center bracket or http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb...50000081b~Z5Z5Z5AAECL~P14.95~~~~~~0000081c~F# I think is best center bracket. http://johnsmustang.com/Parts/details-12878.html anchor pin Total would be roughly twenty dollars more. For a complete kit with anchor, visors (complete), and center visor bracket would be about 75$ I would be able to do a set with them - if wanted or a set without the bracket and anchor pin.
I also would like to note that I am trying to gather information as to what you guys would want, or would like to see in the kit. I also would like feed back on prices if to much or to less. I don't want to under shoot myself as I will be doing a lot of leg work to get the items prepared to start making, but at the same time I don't want to charge to much and get a sour taste in your mouths. So please give feed back and ideas. Once I have worked out the kinks I will be posting a ad on the selling section of the forums for buyers with detailed list of information. I also will have two sets of each -- total of 4 sets 1.) Visor - Standard size with black vinyl - complete with hardware etc 1a.) Visor - New size (add 1" to bottom) with black vinyl - complete with hardware etc 2.) Visor - Standard size with black vinyl - complete with hardware etc + center bracket and anchor pin 2.) New size (add 1" to bottom) with black vinyl - complete with hardware etc + center bracket and anchor pin
Thats the problem with this type of venture. Dont forget your time is valuable. You will invest more time than you think by the time you ship. ITs a tough decision on your part. Anyone with half a brain will realize this when you post your price. Dont worry.
When you buy a headliner it usually includes extra vinyl to cover the visors, members can send that in along with their core to save more money for you. Plus that way they'll know the color matches the headliner.
