Had that happen to us in the desert once. Glad no damage was done.

SO it sounds like there is interest in a Desert Mavericks Dyno Day and Burger and dog feast? It would be near Bullard Ave and I-10 in Goodyear. Might get more people interested in this instead of a track day. Cause you wont have to pay to watch like at the track. And if it rains we can still do it.

So besides who is interested in coming to watch, who would want to put their car on the dyno and get some HP numbers and wideband air fuel ratio results? Would probably be a small fee per car for the dyno, will work that out later.

I would definately be interested in this...I have already been on the dyno with mine but have made some changes since then and would like to see the difference. Plus who doesn't like grilled burgers and dogs??

What would be a small fee? I'm curious as to what my car will do (would'nt be much) never had it dynod. Although I'm kinda afraid of blowing the engine. What time frame (Date) are you talking?

I can see what kind of deal I can get... it also depends how many of us will be actually slapping the cars on the Dyno.. they normally charge 75 bux for 3 pulls with a wideband.. but i should be able to get it for a lot less.. It be almost for free at midnight but who wants to be cooking burgers in 50 degree weather?

the less cars, the more time the cars can sit on the Dyno and try out different things..

The reason I said Sunday is cause pretty soon I'm only going to be free Sun, Mon, and Tuesdays

I would like to run the mustang on the dyno. Tune it in a little better. That would be great. Count me in.:thumbs2:

Alex let me know when you talk to your friend and find out a price. it would have to be pretty cheap for this to work. We probably wont know really how many cars or people would show up unitl after its planned and I start sending out PMs, Emails to all my contacts that dont normally check in here.

$75 is actually a pretty good deal but could still be out of budget for some of us. :( I have had my car on the chassis dyno at Chuck's Speed Shop and they charge $110/hour. Last time I was there I dropped about $190 for about 1 1/2 hours and about 4 pulls IIRC. I'm anxious to get back on the dyno to check air/fuel and of course hp but not at that price. What shop is this anyways?

Im sure some guys will just want to see what there old stock motor is putting out for ****s and giggles. Like I want to see what a stock 200 I6 is putting out for pure comedic relief. And then see that number tripled by the next car. And some of us may want to tune a little and get advice and help form the others. But its gotta be cheap. If the shop is usually empty on sundays anyways then I think if we can raise a couple hundred bucks he should be happpy to make that while sitting at home and letting Alex man the controls.

yes the whole point of being cheap is that, we would have to man the controls, tie down the cars.. which is a piece of cake.. I do know the first question out of his mouth is going to be how many cars.... there are two ways of doing this... I'm thinking if i tell him 300 for the day.. which is dirt cheap, he might not go for it..but i think he will, since it would be a SUnday and he normally even isn't there on Sundays.. that way we have the whole day and we can put as many cars as we want.. we will just have to figure out who pays what between us...

but it has to be a Sunday, at least for me to be there and get "my discount". if you guys do it on a Saturday, that is also possible but, I can almost guarantee 60-75 for the three pulls with a wideband and 50 for the three pulls without.. the owner sometimes needs to make "his boat" payment and doesn"t give anything away.. A good vender of the shop wanted a tune and he quoted him full price.. I was shocked cause the guy had helped the shop out before.. needless to say the vendor went with another shop..

so lets get a head count and pick a day.. I'll be there for a bit today and get a feel of whats going on..

Id be suprised if we get 10 cars that would dyno. At $30 a piece we could make his $300. for the day and thats a boat payment right there, maybe. Any more than $30 a piece I'd rather set up a track day but then even the spectators would have to pay. If we can get him to agree on a a set payment for the day then we could split that up between those that want to dyno. Could be more or less $30 depending on how many cars want to run. And I dont think anybody would care how many runs each person makes once its hooked up. We are there to B.S. and see each others cars anyways.

Fell him out and see what he says. If it dosnt work out then I'd just come for some midnight madness once my heap runs.

Should have it before then Gene. Im thinking Early March or Early April. 1 months notice might be enough. I have a wedding to go to Late March. So maybe early April if we cant get done before. I also want to make sure my car is ready, so dont want to rush the meet. If I can get wheels on the ground this weekend then early march should be good.

If we need more cars to run to get the cost per car down Im sure we can round up a few Mustang guys if needed.
